Day 4        Edinburgh: Stirling & Loch Lomond Excursion (approx. 209 km)
After breakfast, make your way to the departure point for a full-day excursion to Stirling and Loch Lomond.

  • Stirling & Loch Lomond Excursion: As you travel through Stirlingshire, your guide will regale you with tales of the turbulent times of William Wallace, dramatized in the film Braveheart. In Stirling, you'll have free time to explore the stunning castle ($) or stroll through the city's beautiful and ancient streets. Next, travel over the Duke's Pass for dramatic views of the Trossachs National Park and its Lochs. Stop in Aberfoyle, a small holiday village at the southern edge of the West Highland Fault. Visit the beautiful loch-side village of Balmaha, where you can take a short but steep hike up to Craigie Fort to enjoy stunning views of the loch, or just enjoy the bonnie banks on flat ground. Return to Edinburgh.

Day 5        Edinburgh - York (approx. 259 km)
Make your way to the train station and hop on board for York. Upon arrival, make your way to your hotel and check in, then enjoy the rest of the day at leisure to visit York at your own pace.

The day is yours to discover York. The quintessential medieval city, York brings history to life through the York Minster, an extraordinary Gothic cathedral, the Shambles, a street of timber-framed buildings dating from the 14th century, and its many traditional pubs and restaurants just waiting to be explored.

Day 7        York: Yorkshire Dales Excursion (approx. 210 km)
After breakfast, meet up with the tour guide for a full-day trip to Yorkshire, stopping in quaint villages along the way.

  • Yorkshire Dales Excursion: Travel through Boroughbridge to Masham, famous for its family-run breweries, annual sheep fair and local market held on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Travel further into the Dales to Middleham, then to Castle Bolton, one of the country's best-preserved medieval castles. Your afternoon stop is in Grassington, featuring a bustling market square surrounded by shops offering local foods, specialty gifts, and arts and crafts. Marvel at the beautiful views en route back to York.

After breakfast, make your way to the train station for your trip to London. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and head out to explore London at your own pace.
