Welcome to Rome - Florence

Upon arrival in Rome, make your way to the railway station inside the airport and board the high-speed train to Florence. Upon arrival, take a private transfer to your hotel and check in. Spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 3

Florence: At Leisure

Enjoy the day at your pace and sample world-famous art and gourmet Tuscan cuisine. The entire city centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site! Walking is by far the best way to explore the city and see attractions like the Duomo, Piazza della Signoria and Ponte Vecchio. If you are an art and history lover, opt for an optional excursion ($) to the Accademia Gallery to see Michelangelo’s most famous sculpture, David.

Day 4

Florence – Vicenza (approx. 269 km)

After breakfast, meet your private driver for your transfer to the railway station and take the train to Vicenza. Upon arrival, meet your driver who will take you to your hotel to check in. In the afternoon, begin your walking tour of the city.

  • Welcome to Vicenza, Veneto’s 4th largest city known for Palladio, a famous stonecutter. Visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Vicenza and its surrounding villas.  If you are in Vicenza on Wednesday or Saturday, visit Villa Capra ($), one of Palladio’s most admired creations, also known as “La rotonda”.  Visit the Teatro Olimpico, Santa Corona church, and Piazza dei Signori. Try out their favourite aperitif ($): the spritz.

Day 5

Vicenza

After breakfast, meet your driver at the hotel and begin your guided visit of the grappa factory and winery tour.

Grappa and Wine Tasting:
  • At the Grappa factory, a guide will lead you through the Grappa Museum and to the distillery where grappa is produced. Visit the room where distillation is still made through a steam still, and then go on to the cellars where grappa rests in about 4000 oak barrels. At the end of the visit, the staff will offer you a taste of whatever grappa you would like to try! Proceed to the famous Zonin winery and walk through the large vaulted cellars that house the enormous and precious French and Slavonian oak barrels. Here you’ll taste 3 famous wines of the region itself: an experienced sommelier will let you discover Prosecco 1821, Gambellara Classico and Valpolicella Ripasso (or Amazon), paired with local products such as Sopressa Vicentina (a kind of salami), Asiago and Monte Veronese cheeses, homemade breadsticks and local bread seasoned with extra virgin olive oil produced in the wine estate.

Day 6

Vicenza - Verona (approx. 58 km)

After breakfast, meet your private driver for your transfer to the railway station and take the train to Verona. Meet your driver who will take you to your hotel for check-in. Verona is the second-largest city in the region. Today, Verona attracts a huge number of tourists due to its rich history and its myriad of ancient buildings such as the houses of Romeo and Juliet, the Arena and the Ponte Scaligero.

  • Enjoy the walking tour and see the exterior of the Arena, stroll the Piazza delle Erbe, a beautiful square at the heart of Verona’s historic centre. Here you will see the town hall, the Palazzo Maffei, Mazzanti houses, and the fountain which features a statue of Madonna Verona. Lastly, stop to see Juliet’s balcony from Shakespeare’s famous play.

Day 7

Verona – Lake Garda – Verona (approx. 144 km)

After breakfast, take the train to Peschiera del Garda. Begin at the harbour and visit the small historic centre with a waterfront promenade along the lake and canals

From Peschiera to Sirmione on the Lake Garda Tour:
  • Take a motorboat to reach enchanting Sirmione, renowned for its thermal waters and the Grottoes of Catullus. Begin your tour of Sirmione with the medieval castle known as Rocca Scaligera. This unique structure is the best-preserved castle found throughout the entire Lake Garda area. It serves as a striking entrance to the village of Sirmione itself, the historic centre of which is reached by crossing a small stone bridge leading to Piazza Castello, where the Church of Sant'Anna is located. The tour continues with a visit to Piazza Carducci, from which visitors can explore the various narrow medieval roads and alleyways, and the Parish Church of Santa Maria Maggiore. Before leaving the village, make sure you sample some local specialties, like the pleasant Lugana wine, which is pressed from grapes native to the Lake Garda area ($). Return to Perschiera by motorboat.

Day 8

Verona - Valpolicella

After breakfast, meet your driver at your hotel and head to the winery in Valpolicella.

  • Take a guided tour of the vineyards and Villa Giona park, one of the most prestigious historic mansions of the 16th century in Valpolicella, retracing the history of Valpolicella wine, and taste the winery’s most famous wines: Prosecco Extra dry, Valpolicella Doc Classico, Lazzarone IGT – Prosecco Extra Dry, Amarone della Valpolicella Doc. They will be paired with cheeses and cold cuts of the territory accompanied by breadsticks. Meet your driver who will take you back to your hotel.
