Day 1

Depart Canada

Fly to Seoul, South Korea.

Day 2

Welcome to Seoul

Upon arrival at Seoul’s Incheon International Airport, a dedicated local representative or tour guide will greet you at the airport exit with an Air Canada Vacations® sign. They will escort you to your hotel for check-in. The airport-hotel transfer will be done on a shared service on board of an air-conditioned vehicle.

Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure.

Day 3

Seoul

After breakfast, embark on a full-day city tour of South Korea’s vibrant capital, Seoul. Begin with a visit to the majestic Gyeongbokgung Palace, followed by a stop at a ginseng centre and cosmetic shop for some unique souvenir shopping.

Afterwards, a delicious and traditional Korean BBQ lunch awaits.

Continue with a nice stroll by the picturesque Gyeongbokgung Palace Stream, then visit Myeong-dong, one of Seoul’s main commercial districts.

Day 4

Daegu - Busan

After breakfast, spend the day at your leisure discovering the rhythm of Seoul at your own pace. Dive into a tapestry of modern marvels and ancient traditions as you wander through bustling markets, savouring local delicacies and uncovering hidden gems around every corner. Indulge in a shopping spree at vibrant districts like Insa-dong, where traditional crafts meet contemporary flair. Take a serene stroll along the banks of the Han River. Cultural immersion, culinary delights, and more await on this day of self-guided exploration.

Day 5

Seoul - Andong - Daegu

After breakfast, check-out and board your transfer to  the traditional village of Andong, known for its picturesque Joseon Dynasty period (1392–1897) houses.

Next, continue your cultural journey to Daegu to visit the Donghwasa Temple, nestled on the southern slopes of Palgongsan (1193m).

Afterward, proceed to your hotel for check-in, with the remainder of the day free for at your leisure.

Day 6

Daegu - Gyeongju - Busan

After breakfast, check-out and embark on your epic journey to Gyeongju, “the Museum without Walls,” where you’ll delve into the rich history and archaeological wonders of the ancient Silla Kingdom. Explore the Royal Tumuli Park and delve deeper into Korea’s past at the Gyeongju National Museum.

At lunch, indulge in a delicious and special Samgye-tang, a flavourful chicken soup infused with ginseng, for a taste of local culinary tradition. After, continue your journey to Busan and check into your hotel. Spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 7

Busan

After breakfast, embark on an exciting journey beginning with a visit to Haedong Yonggungsa, also known as the East Sea Dragon Palace Temple, beautifully situated on Busan's northeastern coast overlooking the ocean.

Next, explore Nurimaru APEC House, a prestigious international conference hall near Haeundae Beach offering breathtaking views of the natural landscape.

Continue your adventure with a visit to the Oryukdo Skywalk, a thrilling experience where you can view crashing waves through the transparent floor of this 15-meter-high structure perched atop a 35-meter coastal cliff.

Discover the vibrant Gamcheon Culture Village where narrow alleys adorned with colorful murals and sculptures wind through this artistic community nestled in the coastal mountains.

Conclude your day with a visit to Nampo-dong Gukje, one of Korea’s largest markets, known for its wide variety of goods offered at affordable prices.

Day 8

Busan - Osaka

After breakfast, you will be transferred on an air-conditioned vehicle to Busan’s International Airport for your flight to Osaka (included). Upon arrival at Osaka’s Kansai International Airport, a dedicated local representative or tour guide will greet you at the airport exit with an Air Canada Vacations sign. Your local representative will assist you with your transfer service; the transfer from the hotel to the airport will be on your own. After you check-in at your hotel, enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure.

Day 9

Osaka - Nara - Osaka

After breakfast, you will be transferred on board an air-conditioned motorcoach to Nara, known for its iconic sites.

Your fist visit of the day will be the Tōdai-ji Temple, one of Japan’s most famous and historically significant structures from the eighth century. Its huge area houses various national treasures of Japan. Step foot in the Tōdai-ji Daibutsuden (Great Buddha Hall), which houses the world’s largest bronze statue of the Buddha Vairocana.

Before returning to Osaka, wander through Nara Park, where over 1,200 wild sika deer roam free.

Upon returning to Osaka, you will then visit the Osaka Castle, which played a major role in the unification of Japan during the Azuchi-Momoyama period in the sixteenth century.

After this last visit, you will be dropped off at Dotonbori, a popular and lively entertainment district that exemplifies Osaka’s vibrant food culture. You will have some free time to wonder around this magnificent district before taking your included return transfer to your hotel.

Day 10

Osaka

Today, you will be your own tour guide! You’ll be able to visit other iconic places you may have missed, such as the Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine, the Nakanoshima Park or the Umeda Sky Building with a breathtaking view of Osaka’s skyline!

  • Kansai Culture Day Tour with Traditional Lunch Included

    The highlights:

    • Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, with thousands of tall bamboo plants
    • The Bamboo Alley, one of Kyoto’s most photographed sights
    • Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine, one of the most sacred and impressive landmarks
    • Torii Gates, the most picturesque location on tour, perfect for great photo opportunities along the ancient street
    • The making of Japanese sweets called nerikiri wagashi, perfect for the tea ceremony and ideal for taking back home as a souvenir

    Note: The site visits may change depending on availability and capacity.

    Afterwards, return to your comfortable vehicle for the relaxing journey back to your hotel.

    The rest of the day is free for you to enjoy on your own.

Day 11

Osaka - Kyoto - Nagoya - Hamamatsu

After breakfast, you will be transferred on an air-conditioned vehicle to Kyoto, once the capital of Japan and the ancient residence of emperors until 1868. Countless temples, shrines, and other historically structures survive in the city today.

Note: Your coach transfer will leave from Kyoto to Nagoya and will wait for you there. Your luggage will be left on board the coach while you continue with your program.

Your first stop will be Kinkakuji, a World Cultural Heritage Site featuring a shining golden pavilion and a pond-centered garden. Visit the shining Kinkakuji Temple with its two floors covered entirely in thin layers of pure gold along with detailed architecture incorporating three distinct styles of shinden, samurai, and zen.

The following visit will be the Higashi Hongan-ji, which is a religious complex part of the Pure Land Buddhism (Jōdo Shinshū). Its monumental architecture is renowned for being sheltered by the largest wooden roof in the world.

Right after the visit, you will be transferred to the Kyoto Station, from which you will be able to get a perfect shot of the Kyoto tower and have lunch ($).

In the afternoon, experience a true modern marvel by riding the Shinkansen (bullet train) from Kyoto to Nagoya Station, where a coach will be waiting for you to continue with the last stop of the day’s program.

Upon arrival in Nagoya, you will visit the Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology. Here, you will learn about the history of Toyota, which started out as a textile machinery manufacturer before transforming into a successful mass exporter and manufacturer of automotive technology, including robots.

After this visit, you will be transferred to Hamamatsu and stay overnight.

Day 12

Hamamatsu - Gotemba - Fuji

After breakfast, you will visit Gotemba Peace Park to capture a breathtaking view of Mount Fuji and Oshino Hakkai. Known as the springs of Mount Fuji, the eight ponds of Oshino Hakkai are fed by melting snow from the slopes of nearby Mount Fuji that results in very clear spring water used by locals.

Your next stop will be a visit to a Sengen Shrine. Enjoy picturesque views of Mount Fuji onboard a Lake Kawaguchi cruise.

Day 13

Fuji - Tokyo

After breakfast you will visit the Meiji Shrine in the morning, dedicated to the deified spirits of Emperor Meiji and his consort, Empress Shōken .

Your next stop is the Tokyo Metro for a panoramic view of the enormous city.

Later, you will take a stroll through the Sensō-ji Temple (Asakusa Kannon Temple), one of Tokyo’s most colorful and popular sites. 

Then, walk along the famous Nakamise Shopping Street, where you can explore the lines of stalls selling different Japanese-styled goods ($) and souvenirs ($).

Tokyo

Enjoy a day at leisure to explore bustling Tokyo. Discover Japanese history and art at a museum or indulge in some retail therapy at one of Tokyo’s cutting-edge districts. Alternatively, you may join our optional day trip.
