Welcome to Reykjavík (approx. 50 km)
Upon arrival, pick up your rental car and drive to the capital. Check in to your hotel.

- If time permits, you might like to begin your journey with a visit to Iceland’s world-famous Blue Lagoon. Take a relaxing dip in the lagoon’s soothing, geothermal waters, before heading to your hotel.
Day 3
Reykjavík – Borgarfjördur – Snæfellsnes Peninsula (approx. 300 km)
Spend your day discovering Snaefellasness peninsula.

- See the majestic glacier Snaefellsjokull and visit the famous goth church in Budir. Make your way through the small fishing village Arnarstapi and keep an eye out for bird cliffs that are home to kittiwakes and arctic terns. Stroll on the black sand at Djupalonssandur beach and drive along the Northern shore of the peninsula.

Day 4
Stykkisholmur – West Fjords (approx.450 km)
From Stykkisholmur, drive along the scenic coast until you've reached the region of Flókalundur and Patreksfjördur in the West Fjords.

- Visit one of the most secluded places in the country, where steep mountains and deep fjords are home to the fairies and elves of Icelandic lore. Make your way to Latrabjarg, a huge cliff with thousands of breeding birds. Carry on along the fjords passing white sand beaches and cliffs until you reach your accommodations near Patreksfjordur.

Day 5
Patreksfjordur – Isafjordur (approx. 200 km)
Today you continue up north along the West Fjords. Cross mountains and heaths as you drive along the dramatic fjords at the foot of steep cliffs.

- Stop at Dynjandi, a beautiful waterfall that lies in the northern arm of the fjord Arnarfjordur. Pass by fishing villages like Thingeyri and Flateyri on your way to your last stop, Isafjordur.

Day 6
Isafjordur – Holmavik – Hrutafjordur or Hvammstangi (approx. 360 km)
From Isafjordur, continue your journey of the West Fjords.

- Drive along the numerous small fjords of Isafjardardjup, passing the Vigur Island on the way. Arrive in the village of Holmavik, where you can visit an interesting museum dedicated to the ancient Icelandic magic. Continue along Hrutafjordur fjord to your next hotel accommodation.

Day 7
Húnaflói – Skagafjördur – Eyjafjördur (approx. 340 km)
Drive along Hunafloi and Skagafjordur region before arriving in Akureyri town.

- Skagafjordur is known for horse breeding, and here you’ll see the distinct Icelandic breed grazing in the valley. Stop at the Glaumbaer museum, which is one of the best-preserved turf farmhouses in Iceland. Head towards Eyjafjordur fjord, the road that takes you through the deep valleys of Northern Iceland before you arrive in Akureyri.

Day 8
Akureyri – Godafoss - Lake Myvatn (approx. 350 km)
While heading to Myvatn, stop at Godafoss, the waterfall of the pagan gods.

- Dedicate your day to the marvels of Lake Myvatn Nature Reserve. One of its main attractions is Namaskaro geothermal area where you will find bubbling mud pools and hissing steam vents. Walk through the Dimmuborgir lava labyrinth.

Day 9
Húsavík – Tjörnes – Ásbyrgi – Dettifoss – Egilsstadir (approx. 325 km)
Drive on the attractive stretch of the Tjornes Peninsula coastline until you arrive at Asbyrgi and Egilsstadir, your final stop for the day.

- Asbyrgi, a horseshoe-shaped gorge said to be the hoof of Odin’s eight-legged horse Sleipnir. Take short walk in the canyon Svartifoss before heading to your next stop Iceland’s most powerful waterfall, the mighty Dettifoss. Continue your trip through the desert highlands of Modrudalsoraefi to the village of Egilsstadir.

Day 10
East Fjords - Hofn (approx. 325 km)
Drive south through the sheltered East Fjords and pass through the small fishing villages of Reydarfjordur, Faskrudsfjordur, Stodvarfjordur and Djupivogur.

- In Stodvarfjordur you can visit Petra’s Stone Collection museum. Continue to Hvalnes, the “Cape of the Whales” with its never-ending stretches of beaches in Lonsvik.

Day 11
Jökulsárlón – Skaftafell – Kirkjubæjarklaustur or Vík (approx. 280 km)
First stop is at Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon, followed by Skaftafell National Park before arriving on your last stop of the day, Vik.

- Take a short cruise surrounded by numerous icebergs that fill the lagoon. Take the time to walk around and take in the beautiful surroundings. Continue towards Skaftafell National Park where we recommend a hike to access the beautiful Svartifoss. Before arriving to Vik, drive over to Myfdalssandur, to see a vast expanse of black volcanic sand.

Day 12
Vik – South Shore – Selfoss or Hevragerdi (approx. 225 km)
First stop is the black sand Reynisfjara beach followed by Cape Dyrholaey and Skogar before your last destination, Selfoss.

- Reynisfjara beach is famous for the rock stacks that rise from the sea and its basalt columns. Next stop is at Cape Dyrholaey, where you often see puffins, unless its nesting season from May 15 until June 23. Continue westbound and you arrive at the tallest waterfall in Iceland, Skogafoss, or the Seljalandsfoss waterfall, where you can walk behind the water.

Day 13
Golden Circle – Reykjavik (approx. 200 km)
The Golden Circle, the most popular attraction in Iceland, will be your first stop. Followed by Gullfoss, Thingvellir and finally Reykjavik.

- Start at the famous geothermal area Geysir, where the Strokkur hot spring shoots water columns high in the air every 5 to 10 minutes and where numerous small springs boil and bubble. Next stop is the iconic waterfall Gullfoss. Continue to Thingvellier, which is a geological wonder of the world, then head to your last stop.

Reykjavik - Return to Canada (approx. 50 km)
Drop off your rental car at the airport and board your flight home.
