Upon arrival, meet your driver and head for your hotel to check in. Enjoy the afternoon in Lisbon aboard the GoCar!

Day 3
Lisbon
After breakfast, enjoy a full-day private tour along the Tagus River to experience Ribatejo region and its traditions.

Tejo Islands & Wild Horses:
- Begin with a visit the small village of Salvaterra de Magos, where Portuguese royalty lived during the 18th century. Visit the Royal Falconry to appreciate birds of prey and understand how they were used in royal hunts. Next, enjoy a traditional lunch before heading to the banks of the Tagus. Go on a small boat tour and explore calm waters amid a stunning scenery of islands where many bird species live. See the famous Portuguese Lusitano horse, which runs freely along the Tagus River.

Day 4
Lisbon – Évora (approx. 133 km)
After breakfast pick up your car at the rental centre. Leave Lisbon and travel through the Alentejo region towards Évora.

- A 90-minute walk through narrow, century-old streets. Discover the magical places of Évora where the stones come to life, visiting the main attractions: Giraldo Square, the Roman Temple of Évora, the Cathedral of Évora and the Church of São Francisco.
- Fly through the skies over Évora and Alentejo! See the city and the fields from up above and bring the tranquility of the Alentejo countryside to the skies, where only the birds and the wind can be heard.

Day 5
Évora – Monsaraz – Alqueva Lake (approx. 60 km)
After breakfast, drive to the medieval walled town of Monsaraz, see the castle, the church and admire breathtaking views. Continue to Alqueva, the largest artificial lake in Europe. Take part of the many activities offered, from water skiing and wakeboarding to canoeing and stand up paddle. Visit nearby places on foot or by bicycle and see some of the region’s tourist spots.
Sleep on-board a floating house, no sailor’s license or previous experience needed (only a brief training session on the day of the rental).

Day 6
Alqueva – Moura – Mértola – Alcoutim - Tavira (approx. 227 km)
Wake up to a peaceful and unique Alentejo landscape. Sail along the Alqueva and discover many lakeside villages. Moor your boat easily and explore more of the region’s attractions before leaving Alqueva. Arrive in Moura and stroll through the town before continuing your drive south through Alentejo’s fields of cork and olive trees. Visit Mértola, nicknamed the museum-village, a peaceful riverside walled town located on a cliff.
Drive towards the Algarve region and stop at Alcoutim, where you’ll take a 5-minute ferry ($) to Sanlúcar de Guadiana and experience the world’s only cross-border zipline. End your day by heading east and staying overnight in Tavira.

Day 7
Tavira – Faro - Lagos (approx. 115 km)
After breakfast, enjoy your time in Tavira with its beautiful gardens and open-air cafes. See the Church of Misericordia, among a multitude of churches spread throughout the town.
Drive to Faro and take some time in the capital of the Algarve. Walk to the old town, crossing the Arco da Vila, and admire Bishops’ Palace in Largo da Sé square.
Continue to Lagos and visit this ancient city. Stroll through narrow streets and the historic centre and visit churches and museums of sacred art and archaeology.

Day 8
Lagos – Sagres – Vicentine Coast - Lisbon (approx. 302 km)
After breakfast, take an adventurous guided kayak tour in Lagos. In the afternoon, travel back to Lisbon and drive through Sagres and Cape St. Vincent, the 2 most southwestern points in Europe. See the lighthouse and the promontory that housed a famous nautical school founded in the 15th century. Continue along the Vicentine Coast, over 100km of natural habitat with a vast variety of beaches. Stop to try a surf lesson ($) on Arrifana or Amado beach before heading back to Lisbon.

Day 9
Lisbon – Return to Canada
After breakfast, return your car rental at the Lisbon airport and board your flight back to Canada.
