Upon arrival in Madrid, take a private transfer to your hotel and check in. The rest of the afternoon is yours to explore Spain's capital city.
Day 3
Madrid: Sightseeing
Start with a half-day panoramic sightseeing tour, then go on a guided skip the line visit of the Royal Palace of Madrid.

Day 4
Madrid - Ávila - Segovia (approx. 184 km)
At 9:00 a.m., pick up your rental car in downtown Madrid. Our suggested route includes a stop in Avila to see its fortress and cathedral. Continue to Segovia. Stroll through the city and see the cathedral and Alcazar. Spend the night at your hotel in Segovia.

Day 5
Segovia - Ribera del Duero - Burgos (approx. 208 km)
Drive to Valladolid and cross the Ribera del Duero wine region, with interesting vineyards and wineries along the way. Continue to Burgos, with its medieval architecture and famous French Gothic-style cathedral. Spend the night at your hotel in Burgos.

Day 6
Burgos - La Rioja - Bilbao (approx. 274 km)
Head to another famous wine region, La Rioja, and stop for a walk in Logrono to sample mouth-watering tapas on Calle Laurel, a popular area filled with bars, restaurants and cafés. Make a stop at the medieval Laguardia village to visit a calado, a traditional wine cellar. Or, pay a visit to the famous Marqués de Riscal winery, with its amazing building designed by Frank Gehry. Continue to Bilbao for the night.

Day 7
Bilbao
Spend the day discovering the city. Bilbao is packed with must-see spots, including the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum and the Ribera Market. Taste delicious pintxos at a local tavern. Drive to the nearby village of Guernica, the symbol of Basque Country, immortalized by Picasso in his famous painting. Spend the night in Bilbao.

Day 8
Bilbao - San Sebastián - Biarritz - Bilbao (approx. 299 km)
Drive along the coastline to the cosmopolitan San Sebastian. Stop at Monte Igueldo for spectacular views over the bay. Just 20 km away, cross the border with France and drive a further 30 km to pay a visit to elegant Biarritz. If you like, sample delicious wine and oysters, or hit the waves with a surfing lesson. Return to Bilbao for the night.

Day 9
Bilbao - Barcelona
Drop off your rental car at Bilbao airport and board the plane for your local flight to Barcelona. Upon arrival, make your way to your hotel in Barcelona and check in.

Barcelona: Sightseeing
Get to know the city via a half-day panoramic sightseeing tour, before heading over to visit the Sagrada Familia. Spend the afternoon at leisure.
