Okanagan's Wineries

From its first vines in 1859 to the nearly sixty grape varieties and hundred winemakers found in the valley today, the Okanagan reputation for winegrowing is well earned. The valley, stretching over 150 km while only 20 km-wide, is nestled between the Cascade and Columbia mountain ranges. Its colder climate in the north is ideal for the cultivation of Pinots, Sauvignons and Rieslings, while the warmth of the south end, with its desert-like landscapes, is perfect for Merlots, Syrahs and Cabernet Sauvignons. From Kelowna to Ossooyoos, many vineyards welcome visitors with a taste of their excellent goods, all in an incomparable setting.
