Day 1

Fly to Vancouver

Fly to Vancouver and make your way to your hotel.

Day 2

Vancouver to Juan de Fuca Marine Trail

Meet your guide before boarding the mini-bus for the drive to the ferry terminal and the 90-minute crossing to Vancouver Island. Enjoy lunch by the picturesque Inner Harbour then set off to your first campground under giant cedar trees by the beach on the Juan de Fuca Marine Trail. End the day with dinner by the campfire and a spectacular ocean sunset.

Day 3

Juan de Fuca Marine Trail

Botanical Beach has one of the most unique and richest tidal areas on Canada's west coast. Tidal pools full of starfish, urchins and sea anemones make for endless photo opportunities today. You'll also have a good chance to see whales, sea lions, seals and eagles.

Hiking time: 4 - 7 hours

Day 4


Explore more of the beach and reef shelves of the Juan de Fuca Strait before crossing to the eastern side of Vancouver Island in the afternoon. The campground features majestic old growth Douglas firs and a wide sandy beach near the city of Parksville.

Day 5

Parksville to Strathcona Park

Some of the best wilderness hiking on Vancouver Island is among the glaciated peaks of Strathcona Park in the Central Island. Reach the Forbidden Plateau for panoramic views over southern BC.

Hiking time: approx. 5 hours

Day 6

Tofino to Vargas Island

For your next adventure, explore the quiet inlet waters and ancient coastal rainforest of Clayoquot Sound in two-person ocean kayaks. No previous kayaking experience is necessary. Stop at Meares Island for a short hike before arriving at your overnight campsite on Vargas Island. A zodiac delivers your equipment and camping gear.

Day 7

Tofino to Ucluelet

Paddle on a different route past Stubbs Island back to Tofino. In the afternoon, enjoy a side trip to Pacific Rim National Park for a hike through ferns, lichens, mosses and thousand-year-old trees. Be sure to pick up local crafts and souvenirs in the charming villages of Ucluelet and Tofino.

Hiking time: 1.5 - 4 hours

Day 8

Ucluelet to Vancouver

Pass through Cathedral Grove with 800-year-old cedars and Douglas firs, one of which is nine metres in diameter. Return to Victoria via the coastal highway. Arrive in Vancouver in the late afternoon.

Day 9

Fly home

Make your way to the airport for your flight home.
