ITINERARY

Day 1

Welcome to Calgary

Pick up your rental car at the airport and make your way downtown to check into your hotel. Afterwards, see Calgary’s towering skyscrapers or take a waterfront stroll along Bow River and walk through historic neighbourhoods. At night, enjoy restaurants and bars on Stephen Avenue.

Day 2

Calgary - Edmonton (300 km)

After checking into your hotel, take in the city’s many attractions like Heritage Park, a historic village that re-creates life in western Canada from the 1860s to the 1950s, or get a panoramic view of the city atop the Calgary Tower. From there, drive to Edmonton and visit the Alberta Legislature Building, the hip Strathcona neighbourhood or the West Edmonton Mall, Canada's largest shopping mall.

Day 3

Edmonton - Jasper (365 km)

In the morning begin your drive to Jasper, enjoying the scenery along the way. After hotel check in, immerse yourself in nature, or take the Jasper SkyTram to admire the vast glacial valley, numerous turquoise lakes, the Athabasca River, snow-capped mountains, and more.

Day 4

Jasper

Hiking enthusiasts will want to head to Mount Robson Provincial Park, home to the highest peak of the Canadian Rockies. The Pyramid Lake’s trail is guaranteed to charm, as will a quiet stroll through Jasper village. At night, sit under the starry sky as Jasper National Park is a designated Dark Sky Preserve, and the second largest in the entire world.

Maligne Lake cruise: Maligne Lake is another hiking favourite, available for exploration before or after your 1-hour cruise upon Maligne Lake's crystalline waters.

Day 5

Jasper – Banff (288 km)

Travel to Banff on one of the most spectacular roads in the world: the Icefields Parkway. This picturesque road crosses the Rockies and connects Lake Louise to Jasper. Keep an eye out for elk, moose, mountain goats, bighorn sheep, bears and caribou. On your way to Banff, stop for photos of the Bow Summit and Peyto Lake, as well as iconic Lake Louise.

This excursion showcases one of the Canadian Rockies’ most unique attractions: glaciers. Travel aboard a giant Ice Explorer onto an enormous sheet of ice belonging to an ancient glacier.

Day 6

Banff

Make the most of your day by discovering Banff and its surroundings. Spot hoodoos, fairy chimneys, or go horseback riding across the countryside. You can also admire the stunning views of the region on a cruise of Lake Minnewanka or on a hike to Johnston Canyon. Lastly, make sure to go souvenir shopping on Banff Avenue.

Minimum age for car rental is 21 with a prepaid voucher. A valid driver's license from country of origin must be presented at time of rental. All drivers under the age of 25 will be subject to a surcharge of CA$25.00 per day, subject to change. Certain car classes may not be available to drivers under age 25.
