Effective November 28, 2024, all travel protection plans can be purchased at time of booking and most can be booked up to 48 hours after booking through the Manage Your Booking tool. The CareFree travel protection plan for Flight & Cruise bookings can only be purchased at time of booking. Plans must be purchased by all passengers sharing a room/cabin accommodation, are non-refundable, and are not applicable to group bookings, car rentals, insurance policies, excursions, theme park tickets and other attractions, and non-refundable bookings.
1All Travel Protection Plans can be used year-round, however a supplement of $20 per person for the CareFree Plan and $50 per person for the CareFlex Plan apply for departures between December 19, and January 5, yearly as well as April 9 to 20, 2025 and March 25 to April 5, 2026. Departure date is identified as the date of the last flight departing from a Canadian city before reaching final destination.
CareFree and CareFlex Travel Protection Plans are applicable to new bookings of vacation packages in Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America, and to Flight & Hotel packages and tours in Europe, the U.S.A., and Canada. CareFree is also applicable to Flight & Hotel packages and tours in Asia, Oceania, the Middle East & North Africa, South America as well as Flight & Cruise packages. CareFlex is not applicable to Asia, Oceania, the Middle East & North Africa, South America, Flight & Cruise packages, Walt Disney World vacations, any over-the-water villas or bungalows at Sandals Resorts, or any three or four-bedroom villas at Beaches Resorts. The CareFlex plan can be used to change your booking, transfer your package or cancel your reservation. Once the CareFlex plan has been used it can be repurchased only at the time the change is made or when booking a new applicable package.
2Price Drop Guarantee: Get a refund if the price of your package drops after you book. The Price Drop Guarantee is redeemable on a decrease of the total package price, including taxes up to a maximum refund of $200 per person. The Price Drop Guarantee must be requested by phone within 5 days of the change in said price drop with presentation of a date/time-stamped proof of the price drop. If no proof is provided, the price at the time of requesting a price drop will apply, if lower than the purchased price. Only valid up to 21 days prior to departure at the latest for travel to Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America and for cruises. Only valid up to 30 days prior to departure at the latest for Europe, Asia, Oceania, the Middle East & North Africa, South America, Canada and the United States. Only applicable on the same package available on aircanadavacations.com. Must be the same departure date, departure city, room or cabin category, meal plan, length of stay, flight, and class of service as the original booking to qualify. Subject to space availability for a new booking at the time the refund is requested. Can only be applied once to any reservation. Refunds will be processed using the original form of payment used for the original booking. Processing of the refund may require 14 days or more.
3Transfer your package to a friend or family member up until 21 days prior to departure for tour packages and up until 7 days prior to departure for vacation packages and Flight & Hotel packages. At least one passenger must remain consistent on the package. Single occupancy name changes are not permitted. Changes to travel dates, destination, hotel, room category or occupancy can be made up to 21 days prior to departure. Changes are subject to hotel and flight availability. Certain types of changes will be considered cancellations and will follow the CareFlex Cancellation Policy. Only one set of changes per booking can be made without penalty. The set of changes can include more than one change and/or transfer, or a cancellation as long as the changes are made at the same time. Once the CareFlex plan is purchased, any changes made less than 44 days prior to departure can only be made through this plan and cannot be made using other methods of change or cancellation offered by Air Canada Vacations. Clients will assume any difference in price increase resulting from the requested change(s). No refund will be issued if the new price is lower than the original fare. New package must be booked at time of change request.
4Cancellations are permitted up to 3 days prior to departure. The refund method depends on the number of days before the initial departure date: Up to 21 days prior to departure, the package total price will be refunded to the original form of payment; 20 to 3 days prior to departure, 100% of the total price will be given as an in-house credit . Cancellations requested 2 days prior to departure or less, including day of departure, are 100% non-refundable. Car rentals, excursions, theme park tickets and other attractions are non-refundable. The cost of the Travel Protection Plans are non-refundable. In case of cancellation, a waiting period of 15 days before rebooking a new vacation applies. The in-house credit is not refundable and is valid for one year and may not be redeemed for cash. The CareFlex plan can be repurchased at the same time the new eligible package is booked. Clients will assume any difference in price increase resulting from partial cancellations. When using the in-house credit for a new booking, no refund is issued if the new price is lower than the original price. Any remaining credit will remain on file and can be redeemed any time until expiry. Travel credits cannot be used for purchases made through third-party providers, such as those booked through the Activities or Car Rentals tabs on the Air Canada Vacations website.
Aeroplan® points cannot be restituted or refunded at any time.
If you booked through a travel agent, please contact your travel agent to request any changes, price drops or cancellations. New reservations must be booked with the same travel agency. If you booked directly with Air Canada Vacations, request changes or price drops through the customer care department for SUN destinations at 1 800 296-3408, and through the Reservations Department at 1 866 529-2079 for Europe, Asia, Oceania, Middle East & North Africa, Canada, United States and cruises.
