Itinerary


Day 1        Fly to Halifax

Fly to Halifax and transfer independently to check into your hotel in the heart of downtown. Meet your guide and fellow travellers this evening at a welcome reception.
            
Day 2       South Shore Touring
Discover the rustic charm of Peggy's Cove over breakfast. Then, enjoy a walking tour of Lunenburg to fully experience one of the most remarkably preserved colonial settlements in the New World, and visit the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic to learn about the town’s famous seafaring heritage. Return to Halifax for your overnight.

Day 3        Halifax - Charlottetown
Cross the famous Confederation Bridge, the world's longest continuous multi-span bridge, to reach Prince Edward Island. En route, learn about Mi'kmaq culture at the Glooscap Heritage Centre & Mi'kmaq Museum.

Day 4        Prince Edward Island Touring
Start your day with some free time to explore Charlottetown, Canada's birthplace, or join a complimentary walking tour of the city. In the afternoon, enjoy a scenic drive to Prince Edward Island National Park and the Green Gables Heritage Site. This evening, take in a theatre performance at the Confederation Centre of the Arts.

Day 5        Charlottetown - Baddeck
Ferry over the Northumberland Strait and continue, via the Canso Causeway, to Cape Breton Island, the Scotland of North America. Visit the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site, containing artifacts and documents from Bell's years of experimental work in Baddeck. Check into your hotel on scenic Bras D'Or Lake.

Day 6        Cabot Trail
Winding around Cape Breton's northern shore, the Cabot Trail ascends to the incredible plateaus of the Cape Breton Highlands National Park. The views of the rugged coastline are unforgettable. Back at sea level, embark on a whale-watching boat tour.

Day 7        Baddeck - Halifax
Today, roam the streets and chat with authentically costumed guides at The Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site, a reconstruction depicting one fifth of the settlement of 1744 New France. Return to Halifax for one last night in the Maritimes.

Day 8        Fly home
Check out from your hotel and transfer independently to the airport for your flight home.
