Upon arrival, pick up your rental car, then head to your hotel to check in.

For dinner, head to the Chiado area to try out Bairro do Avillez and savour traditional cuisine from famous chef José Avillez. After dinner, pop over to the Bairro Alto area to the eclectic and trendy Pensão Amor and savour their signature gin cocktail—it’s one of the Ferreira family’s favourites!

Day 3


Tuk Tuk Sightseeing & Gastronomy Experience: Enjoy a Tuk Tuk tour and gastronomy experience (included) in the Portuguese capital. See the Bairro Alto, Chiado and Rossio and sample pasteis de nata.

For lunch or dinner, try Michelin-starred Solar dos Presuntos, one of Lisbon’s most renowned restaurants that serves up typical cuisine from the Minho region. You might even spot a celeb — both Cristiano Ronaldo and David Beckham have been spotted dining here!

Day 4

Lisbon - Sintra - Lisbon (approx. 58 km)

Head to Sintra to explore the area. Take your pick of any one of the majestic palaces to check out ($), like the National Palace of Sintra, Pena National Palace, the Moorish Castle or Queluz National Palace.

Day 5

Lisbon - Óbidos - Nazaré (approx. 125 km)

Hit the road for Obidos, an enchanting medieval walled city dating back to the 12th century. In the afternoon, continue to Nazaré, a village flanked by striking cliffs and the perfect destination to to learn surfing!

Day 6

Nazaré - Sangalhos - Porto (approx. 228 km)

Start the day at the Miradouro do Suberco. Take in the spectacular panoramic view, then head to the village of Sangalhos, then on to Porto.

In Sangalhos, visit the museum to view Jor Berardo's private art collection in the wine cellars of the Alianca House. For lunch, try the suckling pig at the Rei Dos Leitoes restaurant. You won't regret it!

Walking Tour: Start the day with a walking tour of the city (included). Explore the lively Ribeira district, tempt your taste buds at Bolhao market and see all that this beautiful city has to offer.
Wine Cellar Tour & Tasting: In the afternoon, cross the Dom Luis I Bridge to Vila Nova de Gaia for a Port wine cellar for a tour and tasting (included).

Porto - Douro Valley (approx. 126 km)

Douro River Cruise: Head to the Douro Valley, where you can revel in the area's striking beauty. Embark on a river cruise from Regua to Pinhao where you can admire the magnificent vineyards sloping towards the river. Continue to your hotel in the Regua area.

Quinta Do Vallado Tour & Tasting: Pamper yourself at your hotel, where you can soak up the sun at the pool and take in beautiful valley views. In the afternoon, visit the Quinta do Vallado vineyard—one of the oldest quintas in the Douro region—and enjoy a tour and wine tasting.

Douro Valley - Coimbra (approx. 160 km)

Journey to Coimbra, a charming city teeming with rich culture and history. It’s definitely worth checking out the university and its library, known for its unique baroque style of ornate interior décor and frescoed ceilings.

Coimbra - Lisbon (approx. 206 km)

Dinner at São Miguel d'Alfama Fado Restaurant: Enjoy the scenic drive to Lisbon and explore this charming city! In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner, including wine, at the São Miguel d'Alfama Fado Restaurant, an establishment run by a dear friend of Carlos Ferreira. The restaurant is located right in the heart of the Alfama quarter, the cradle of Fado!

Lisbon - Return to Canada

Head to the airport to return your rental car and board your flight home.

Minimum age for car rental is 25 with a prepaid voucher. A driver's license from country of origin valid for minimum 1 year must be presented at time of rental pickup. All drivers 19-22 years old will be subject to a surcharge of 5 EUR per day up to 50 EUR per rental; subject to change without notice. Certain car classes may not be available to drivers under age 25.
