FUN FACT

Florida… and Russia? What does one of the world’s sunniest places and one of its coldest have in common? Well, the legend goes that St. Pete’s two founding fathers, John C. Williams and Peter Demens, tossed a coin to win the honour of naming their new city. Railway owner Peter Demens won and chose to name it in honour of Saint Petersburg, Russia, where he grew up.
