Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Auckland, New Zealand

Arrive in Auckland where a private driver will transport you to your hotel. Enjoy the day at your leisure. 

Day 2

Auckland Scenic Exploration

Following breakfast at the hotel, meet your guide to head to the waterfront suburb of Mission Bay, east of central Auckland. Drive along the scenic Tamaki Drive, enjoy unobstructed views of Rangitoto Island.

Visit MJ Savage Memorial Park, also known as Bastion Point, which offers stunning views of the Harbour Bridge, Waitemata Harbour, and the Auckland city skyline. You’ll also stop at Achilles Point, a perfect spot to capture fantastic photos with Rangitoto Island as your backdrop. Rangitoto is the largest and most recent volcano in the Hauraki Gulf.

The journey continues to One Tree Hill, or Maungakiekie, a volcanic summit in Auckland which is the second-largest intact volcanic field in the city. Enjoy 360-degree views of Auckland and learn about the mount's rich history. Next stop will be at Mount Eden Summit, one of the most prominent volcanic cones remaining in the Auckland region, where you’ll take in amazing views over the Hauraki Gulf.

End the morning city tour back at the hotel with plenty of time to relax or continue exploring the city at your own pace.

Day 3

Hobbiton and Waitomo Glowworm Cave

After breakfast, the adventure begins with a visit to the Hobbiton Movie Set. Hop on a Hobbiton bus to the village, where the guide will share fascinating details about its creation and fun facts you might not know. Explore the movie set, including a visit inside a Hobbit Hole, seeing The Mill, and crossing the Double Arched Bridge and enjoy a beverage at The Green Dragon Inn.

Next, head to the Waitomo Glowworm Cave for a one-hour guided tour. Experience the magic of the famous Waitomo Grotto with a boat ride on the underground river, marveling at the glowing worms.

After this enchanting experience, return to Auckland, where you can relax and reflect on the day’s memorable adventures.

Day 4

Maori Culture Experience and Spa Day

Start the day with breakfast at your hotel, before meeting your driver who will whisk you away to the Te Puia Māori Village for an unforgettable cultural experience.

Visit the Te Rā + Haka + Hāngī buffet, offering an immersive journey into New Zealand’s rich Māori heritage. Begin with a 90-minute guided tour through the New Zealand Māori Arts & Crafts Institute, Rotowhio Pā, the Kiwi Conservation Centre, and the stunning Te Whakarewarewa geothermal valley, home to the famous Pōhutu Geyser.

Next, be captivated by a vibrant 30-minute Haka cultural performance inside the beautifully carved meeting house, Te Aronui a Rua. Enjoy the pōhiri (ceremonial welcome), waiata (songs), mōteatea (traditional chant), poi, and the powerful haka. After the performance, indulge in a world-famous hāngī buffet lunch at Pātaka Kai Restaurant, Bar & Cafe, offering spectacular views of the geothermal valley while you dine.

After lunch, you will be transferred back to your hotel to explore the city on your own.

In the evening, take a short stroll to the Polynesian spa, where you can unwind in the soothing natural spring pools. With a variety of treatments and pools to choose from, it's the perfect way to relax and fully embrace the tranquility of this unique geothermal region. Entry is included for a seamless, rejuvenating experience!

Day 5

Rotorua at Leisure

Start your day at your own pace with breakfast and explore Rotorua’s many attractions at your leisure.

Choose your own adventure, whether you prefer a leisurely stroll around the picturesque lake or through the beautiful Government Gardens, a scenic flight by plane or helicopter, a scenic bike ride, the exhilarating Zorb as you roll down the hills, or head to Skyline Rotorua for a gondola ride and thrilling luge rides. 

As evening falls, immerse yourself in the magical Redwoods Treewalk, illuminated with twinkling lights, or opt for the award-winning Te Pā Tū evening cultural experience.

Day 6

Lake Taupo and Huka Falls River Cruise and Maori Museum

Following breakfast, meet your guide to embark on an unforgettable private journey today as you travel from Rotorua to Wellington, taking in some of the North Island’s most breathtaking scenery along the way.

The first stop is the Huka Falls River Cruise, an all-weather adventure for a 1 hour, 20 minute cruise allowing you to sit back and enjoy the stunning views of the Waikato River and the majestic Huka Falls. Take in the sights of crystal-clear waters, native birdlife, lush bush-lined riverbanks, and natural hot streams, all while sipping tea/coffee and listening to fascinating commentary from local guides.

Head to Te Manawa which is more than a museum—it’s a cultural hub that brings together art, science, and heritage to reflect the past, illuminate the present, and inspire a sustainable future. The museum is dedicated to celebrating diversity, creativity, and curiosity. With its dynamic collections and interactive exhibits, Te Manawa promises a meaningful and inspiring experience!

After the enriching visit to Te Manawa, you'll continue your journey to Wellington, where your driver will escort you to your hotel for check in for a comfortable and relaxing evening, allowing you to settle in for the night and recharge after a day full of adventure and exploration.

Day 7

Wellington's Scenic Highlights and Historic Landmarks

After breakfast, your guide will meet you at the hotel and start a scenic drive to Mt. Victoria, to enjoy superb views of the city and harbor, giving you a great perspective of the area. Next, head to the renowned Chocolate Fish Cafe for a seaside lunch.

After lunch, continue along the rugged southern coastline to Red Rocks, venturing off-road to visit the seal colony if it's in season. Enjoy a ride on the iconic Cable Car, followed by a stroll through the picturesque Botanical Gardens, leading to the beautiful Lady Norwood Rose Gardens.

Our journey then takes us to the iconic Beehive and Parliament buildings, followed by a visit to Wellington's oldest church, Old St Paul’s. Finally, head west to the Wright Hills fortress, a historic military site offering commanding views of the greater Wellington region.

You’ll have the evening free to enjoy Wellington at your own pace.

Day 8

Exploring Wellington's Movie Magic

After breakfast, meet your driver to begin your adventure and head north into the Hutt Valley, following the path of the 'River Anduin' and taking in the iconic sights of 'Helms Deep' before stopping at the enchanting 'Gardens of Isengard.' Our next stop is Rivendell, where you can visit the famous Legolas Tree before we make our way back to Wellywood.

In Miramar, you'll explore the Weta Cave, where you can visit the museum and shop, capturing memorable photos of the fascinating exhibits. The experience continues with a behind-the-scenes tour of the Weta Workshop, where you’ll see film props and weaponry up close, and hear from the artists themselves about how these incredible artifacts were created. You’ll also gain insight into the world of miniatures and model-making.

The final stop will be the 'Outer Shire' and the Hobbit’s Hideaway, a perfect way to conclude your journey through Middle-earth before returning to your hotel.

Day 9

Wellington to Auckland

After breakfast at the hotel, you'll take a private transfer to Wellington airport for your flight to Auckland.

Upon arrival in Auckland, a private transfer will take you to your hotel for check-in and you’ll have the rest of the day free to explore and enjoy at your leisure.

Day 10

Farewell New Zealand

Following breakfast at the hotel, you’ll be met by your driver for your private transfer to the airport for your flight.
