Day 1
Depart Canada
Overnight flight to Delhi’s International Airport.
Day 2
Welcome to Delhi
Upon arrival at Delhi’s International Airport, you will be required to clear customs and immigration. Once cleared, please proceed to the exit where a dedicated local representative will greet you with an Air Canada Vacations board with your name on it. They will escort you to your private transfer to take you to your hotel to check-in. Spend the rest of the evening at your leisure.

Delhi
After breakfast, your tour guide will take you on a full-day city tour (visiting Old Delhi and New Delhi); enjoy views of a UNESCO World Heritage Site on the drive, while adrenaline awaits on board of a cycle rickshaw that will take you through the narrow lanes of Old Delhi!
In the afternoon, your tour guide will take you to the New Delhi area where you will visit the Humayun's Tomb, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, for an orientation with a conservationist from the Aga Khan Foundation involved in heritage conservation.

Full-day City Tour
On your way to Old Delhi, you will be driving past* the Red Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Experience the delightful chaos of the city aboard a cycle rickshaw for an exciting ride through its narrow lanes. The Old City walls wrap around Chandni Chowk, an ancient market that continues to thrive to this day. Take in the electrifying energy around you while you expose your senses to the enticing colors and exotic scents of cardamom and allspice, and watch local men sip their tea at deliciously fragrant chai stands.
In the afternoon, on your way to the New Delhi area, drive past* the impressive India Gate and the Secretariat building on the way to Humayun's Tomb for an introduction with a conservationist from Aga Khan Foundation involved in heritage conservation. The 16th century Humayun's Tomb is one of India’s many UNESCO World Heritage Sites and the first garden tomb of Asia. Like the Taj Mahal, it is a testament of love built by a queen for her beloved husband Humayun, the 2nd Mughal Emperor of India.*A stop may be possible for picture taking, depending on the traffic and time constraints on the ground.

Delhi - Leh
After breakfast and check-out, your private chauffeur will drive you to Delhi’s International Airport to catch your flight to Leh, a haven for adventure seekers.
Upon arrival at Leh’s airport, collect your bags and exit the airport where you will be greeted by a local representative with an Air Canada Vacations sign with your name on it. The local representative will escort you to your private non-air-conditioned vehicle that will take you to your hotel to check-in. Rest of the day at leisure for you to acclimatize to the high altitude of Ladakh (approximately 3500 m above sea-level).

A day at leisure in Leh promises a unique blend of tranquility, cultural exploration, and breathtaking natural beauty and offers a perfect mix of history and serenity. You will be your own tour guide today, so feel free to take a leisurely walk through the old town to start your exploration.

Leh - Stok
After breakfast and check-out, your tour guide will take you to visit Shey Palace. This landmark was previously the summer palace of the Ladakhi kings.
Afterwards, your private chauffeur will take you on your next adventure, a visit to the Thikse Monastery.
Your next stop in today’s exciting itinerary will take you to Stok Palace & Museum, located on a glacial deposit of pebbles overlooking fields of barley grown on mountain terraces.
Afterwards, your private chauffeur will take you back to your hotel. Rest of the evening is at leisure.

Shey Palace
This landmark was previously the summer palace of the Ladakhi kings. A prince of Ladakh installed the 12 m tall gold-plated copper statue of Sakyamuni Buddha, which can be seen here.

Thiksey Monastery
Home to monks of the Gelukpa order affiliated with the Gelug sect of Tibetan Buddhism. It is noted for its resemblance to the Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet and is the largest monastery in central Ladakh. This twelve-story complex houses many items of Buddhist art such as stupas, statues, thangkas, wall paintings and swords. It also houses a 15-metre high statue of Maitreya, the largest such statue in Ladakh, covering two stories of the building.

Stok Palace
Standing four stories tall, the Stok Palace was the official residence of the royal family of Ladakh and was constructed in 1814 by Ladakh's last ruler. The museum at the Stok Palace has an intriguing collection of Buddhist art, weapons, jewelry, and artefacts, including thangkas painted with colours derived from crushed precious stones. Also on display are the ceremonial headdresses or 'peraks' of the erstwhile rulers of Ladakh. These headdresses are decorated with turquoise, lapis lazuli, coral, and gold, making them an exotic sight.

Stok - Alchi - Stok
After breakfast, your private chauffeur will take an exciting drive to Alchi on the Leh-Srinagar highway. On your way to Alchi, we will make a stopover at Magnetic Hill where you can experience this natural phenomenon for yourself.
After, visit Alchi Monestery, then on your way back to Stok, the tour guide will take you on a detour to the Likir Village to for another visit to yet another magnificent landmark, the Likir Monastery.

Magnetic Hill
This optical illusion gives the impression that vehicles placed in neutral gear on a specific stretch of the road can defy gravity and appear to roll uphill on their own.

Alchi Monastery
Located on the banks of Indus River, the temple complex, though no longer an active religious center, is regarded as one of Ladakh’s most important Buddhist centers and a jewel of monastic skill. The monastery displays a Kashmiri influence in its art and architecture. It features beautiful Tibetan and Gandhara style murals of Ladakh, frescos and images of the Buddha and many small Chortens.

Likir Monastery
The main attraction of the monastery is the colossal 75-foot-tall, gilded statue of the seated Maitreya Buddha. It is also famous for its architecture, colorful murals, and stupas.

Stok - Nubra
After breakfast and check-out, your private chauffeur will take you on a 6-hour* drive in a non-air-conditioned vehicle on your way to Nubra Valley via Khardung La, the highest drivable road in the world.
*Driving time is approximate and it may vary depending on road and traffic conditions.
On your way you will take a detour to visit the Desert Himalayan Adventure Park, where you will have lunch and enjoy a broad range of optional adventure activities and more ($).
Afterwards, the driving adventure continues towards the Nubra Valley; upon arrival to your hotel in Nubra, proceed to check-in and spend the rest of the day at leisure!

Perfect visit for those adrenaline-seeking travelers! Zipline in the World’s longest High Altitude Zip line, or maneuver through the challenging landscapes while driving your own ATV! Optional activities available have an extra cost ($).

Nubra
After breakfast, your tour guide will take you to visit the Diskit Monastery and to the Hunder Sand Dunes, where you can enjoy an optional ride on a double-humped camel ($).
After lunch, make an uphill trek (of around 30 minutes) to the small yet beautiful hidden lake, Yarab Tso. Upon completion, you will be transferred back to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Diskit Monastery
Oldest and largest Buddhist monastery in the Nubra Valley. The prime attraction of the Diskit Monastery is the 100-foot-high Maitreya Buddha statue, which was inaugurated by the Holy Dalai Lama. From the top of the monastery, where the divine statue is situated, one can have a panoramic view of the Nubra Valley.

Hunder Sand Dunes
Known for their captivating landscapes, featuring vast stretches of sand dunes surrounded by towering mountains and lush greenery. A distinctive feature of these dunes is the Bactrian camels, often seen leisurely strolling across the desert landscape.

Yarab Tso Lake
One of the holiest high-altitude lakes in the valley. The lake consists of crystal-clear water, and perfectly reflects its surroundings. The remote location no doubt adds to its mystique and beauty.

After breakfast and check-out, your private chauffeur will take you on a 5-hour drive* to Leh.

Leh - Delhi
After breakfast and check-out, your private chauffeur will drive you to Leh’s airport to catch your flight to Delhi.
Upon arrival to Delhi’s International Airport, proceed towards the exit where you will be greeted by a local representative with an Air Canada Vacations sign with your name on it. They will escort you to your private transfer to your hotel to check-in and get ready for this afternoon’s adventure.
This evening your tour guide will take you to visit Qutab Minar, one of the most famous and tallest minarets in the world!
After dinner at a local restaurant, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

Qutab Minar
This UNESCO World Heritage Site, along with the Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque, represents the first Islamic monuments that marked a shift of power in the country. While the Qutub Minar is exclusively Islamic in conception, its execution was the work of Hindus. Festooned strips, bells, floral designs accompany arabesque verses of the Quran in a unique synthesis of two distinct styles meeting for the first time.
