Day 1

Depart Canada

Fly to Reykjavik.

Day 2

Welcome to Reykjavík

Upon arrival, pick up your rental car and check in to your hotel.

Day 3

Reykjavík – Golden Circle – Vík or Kirkjubæjarklaustur

Hit the road for Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

    See where the Icelandic parliament was established in 930 AD and check out the Geysir hot springs. Stop at several spectacular waterfalls along your route to the Vík area.

Day 4

Skaftafell – Jökulsárlón – Höfn

Start your day with a drive across the impressive black sand plain, Myrdalssandur. Drive to the Höfn area for the night.

    See stunning views of glaciers along your route to the oasis-like Skaftafell National Park, and hike the trails surrounding the Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon. Take an optional 30 to 40-minute boat trip to see enormous glaciers up close.

East Fjords - Egilsstaðir

Today, journey south through the sheltered East Fjords.

Day 6

Dettifoss – Ásbyrgi – Húsavík or Mývatn

Begin today's adventure with a drive through the lunar-like landscape of Möðrudalur. Drive to Húsavík for the night.

    CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) CDW does not cover damage to the underside of the vehicle, damage due to driving through rivers or any kind of water, it does not cover damage due to driving through sandstorm or damage which is caused by loose rocks which get thrown at the car on gravel roads. It is a condition of all Icelandic car insurances that the driver is always responsible for such damage.

    A credit card is always necessary for insurance purposes. Acceptable credit cards are: Mastercard, Visa, American Express, Diners Club.
