You’ll begin in Lisbon, Portugal’s vibrant capital, where ancient history meets contemporary culture. Wander through the winding streets of Alfama, the city’s oldest neighbourhood, and soak in the stunning views from Castelo de São Jorge. Explore the lively Praça do Comércio, indulge in delicious Pastéis de Nata (custard tarts) and ride the iconic Tram 28.

Then, it’s onwards to Porto, Portugal’s second-largest city, renowned for its rich heritage and vibrant culture. Nestled along the Douro River, Porto captivates visitors with its stunning architecture, from the iconic Dom Luís I Bridge to the colourful Ribeira District.

Day 1

Depart Canada

Fly to Lisbon.

Day 2-5

Welcome to Portugal & Lisbon

Upon arrival, take a private transfer to your hotel, where you will spend the next 4 nights.

While in Lisbon, take advantage of the excursions included in your package, plus experience Lisbon’s top must do’s:

  • Alfama: The oldest district in Lisbon, with narrow streets, traditional Fado music and a charming atmosphere.
  • Belém Tower: A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this iconic fortress offers stunning views of the Tagus River.
  • Castelo de São Jorge: A historic castle that provides panoramic views of the city and is steeped in history.
  • Elevador de Santa Justa: A unique lift offering great views of the city and a taste of its architectural history.
  • Jerónimos Monastery: Another UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its beautiful Manueline architecture and intricate details.
  • LX Factory: A trendy area filled with shops, restaurants and street art, perfect for those looking for modern ambiance.

  • Full-day Sintra Tour

    Enjoy a tour of the charming and picturesque town of Sintra. See its historic centre and visit the Pena Palace. Lunch is at your leisure (not included). In the afternoon, travel to Cabo da Roca, the most westerly point of Europe, and admire the beautiful views of Guincho Beach and the striking sea chasm, Boca do Inferno. You’ll continue to Cascais and Estoril before returning to Lisbon and to your hotel.

  • Lisbon Tour by Tuk Tuk and Gastronomy Experience

    Experience an authentic slice of Lisbon on this Tuk Tuk tour which combines history, iconic sights and Portuguese gastronomy. See some of the typical Lisbon quarters from Bairro Alto to Chiado and Rossio, admire the breathtaking vistas of the “City of Seven Hills” and experience some traditional Portuguese tapas and wines.

Day 6-8

Lisbon to Porto

After breakfast, take a private transfer to the train station and board your train to Porto. Upon arrival in Porto, take a private transfer to your hotel, where you will spend the next 3 nights.

While in Porto, take advantage of the excursions included in your package, plus experience Porto’s top must do’s:

  • Ribeira District: Stroll along the scenic riverside, enjoy the colourful buildings and soak in the lively atmosphere.
  • Dom Luís I Bridge: Walk across this iconic double-deck iron bridge for stunning views of the Douro River and the city skyline.
  • Livraria Lello: Visit one of the most beautiful bookstores in the world, famous for its stunning staircase and intricate architectural elements like it’s Neo-Gothic and Art Nouveau façade and Art Deco-style interior.
  • Clérigos Tower: Climb to the top for panoramic views of the city. The Baroque tower is an iconic landmark of Porto.
  • São Bento Railway Station: Admire the stunning azulejos (ceramic tiles) that depict the history of Portugal, located inside the train station.
  • Port Wine Cellars: Take a tour of the wine cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia, just across the river, and enjoy tasting some of the famous Port wines.
  • Palácio da Bolsa: Explore this historic stock exchange building, known for its impressive architecture and the stunning Arab Room.
  • Serralves Museum and Gardens: Visit the contemporary art museum and enjoy the beautiful surrounding gardens.
  • Café Majestic: Experience the elegance of this historic café, perfect for your coffee fix and people-watching.
  • Mercado do Bolhão: Wander through this traditional market, filled with fresh produce, flowers and local delicacies.
  • Foz do Douro: Take a stroll along the coast where the river meets the Atlantic Ocean, where beautiful beaches and scenic views abound.
  • Casa da Música: Attend a concert or simply admire the striking modern architecture of this concert hall.

  • Half-day Porto City Walking Tour, with Cellar Visit and Tasting

    Enjoy a guided tour to explore this beautiful city along the Douro River banks. Visit the impressive Porto Cathedral, the neoclassical Stock Exchange Palace and the São Bento Railway Station. Continue through the historic center with narrow streets and squares and admire the enchanting Art Deco-style interior of Livraria Lello. Finally, you’ll visit a Port wine cellar and treat your palate to some rich Port wine flavours.

  • Full-day Douro Valley Tour, Including River Cruise, Lunch and Wine Tasting

    This charming and unique region in the north of Portugal is the first demarcated wine region in the world and is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This tour takes you to visit São Leonardo de Galatura viewpoint, then onwards to Pinhão to take an hour cruise on the Douro River. You’ll finish your day with a Port wine tasting at a local wine estate.

Return Home

After breakfast, take a private transfer to the airport for your return flight home.
