Évora Wine Tasting Tour & Guided Walking Tour (3 hours)
Visit the most emblematic places of the historical city of Évora, which is a museum-city and the principal representative of the golden era of Portuguese exploration. Visit the Chapel of Bones, the Cathedral (entrance tickets included), and the Roman Temple on a guided walking tour.
Next, taste some of the most extraordinary and recognized Alentejo wines on a wine tasting tour in Évora. The roots of wine production in this region began with the mysterious civilization of the Tartessians, presumably 3000 years ago. Eventually, the production was perfected by the Phoenicians and generalized by the Romans. Throughout the ancient Roman Empire, only Alentejo managed to preserve the uninterrupted practice of the wine fermentation in clay jars, as can be currently observed in some wineries in this region.
-

Portugal is currently responsible for the production of 50% of the world’s cork, and the Alentejo Region is known for its production. Take a private visit accompanied by a guide who specializes in biology that will show you a cork processing factory. They’ll also show you one of the most beautiful views of the region from high above the amazing Castle of Evoramonte.
