Itinerary

Day 1

Welcome to Bangkok

Upon arrival at Singapore’s International Airport, you will need to collect your luggage and go through customs. Once customs have been cleared, please proceed to check-in for your connecting flight for Bangkok. Upon arrival at Bangkok’s International Airport, you will need to clear customs and immigration. Once cleared, proceed to the exit doors, where a local representative will greet you with an Air Canada Vacations sign and escort you to your transfer service to your hotel for check-in. The rest of the day will be at your leisure.

Day 2

Bangkok

After breakfast, start your tour of the city, with lunch included.

In the evening, you may enjoy our optional “The River of Kings Dinner Cruise” tour ($).

  • Bangkok City Tour

    Begin with a visit to Wat Phu Khao Thong (the Golden Mount Temple) and enjoy the spectacular views of Bangkok from the top. The golden stupa houses a Buddhist relic and welcomes worshippers all year round.  

    Afterwards, head towards the tranquil Wat Po, the city's largest and oldest temple, home to the amazing colossal Reclining Buddha, which is almost 150 feet long and about 40 feet high.

    End the tour with a stop at the Temple of Dawn and visit the great, colourful and towering stupa, decorated spires that stand majestically over the water.

  • The River of Kings Dinner Cruise

    Sail over the beautiful Chao Phraya River in Bangkok and enjoy a scenic view of some of Thailand’s most famous landmarks like the Temple of Dawn, the Grand Palace, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, and Rama VIII Bridge while you dine on award-winning cuisine accompanied by live music entertainment.

    Notes:

    The length of the entire activity is from 18:00 to 22:00; this time includes transfers and embarking/disembarking. Note that the actual duration of the river cruise is 2 hours.

Day 3

Bangkok

Today is yours to explore Bangkok independently and at your own pace and interest! Or take an optional full-day tour to explore the famous floating market, grand palace, and Emerald Buddha.

    Enjoy a full-day tour of Bangkok and visit some of its most famous sites like the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, the Grand Palace, and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha.

Day 4

Bangkok - Chiang Rai

After breakfast, board your transfer to Bangkok International Airport for your flight to scenic Chiang Rai, located in the northernmost province of Thailand.

Upon arrival at Chiang Rai Airport, you will be greeted by a local representative with an Air Canada Vacations sign.

Your journey in this beautiful region starts with lunch at a local authentic Northern Style restaurant in Chiang Rai, followed by a visit to two temples, which are the province’s most famous landmarks.

At dinner, savour a traditional Thai meal.

    Your first stop is the White Temple, designed by the Thai artist Chalermchai Kositpipat. The temple is decorated with astonishing paintings, including images of superheroes blending tradition, contemporary art, and spirituality. Next, visit the Blue Temple, known for its sapphire blue colour and gold inlays. Highlights include sculptures of mythical serpents and the grand temple hall. Immerse yourself in its spiritual sanctity while you admire its architectural elegance and vibrant colours as you appreciate the intricate details of this contemporary masterpiece.

Day 5

Chiang Rai

After breakfast, board your transfer and start your day tour of Chiang Rai.

  • Chiang Rai Day Tour

    Start with the House of Opium at Golden Triangle Park, offering an informative exhibition on the history of opium dating back almost 5000 years, then climb to the hilltop viewpoint to see the famous "Golden Triangle" of Southeast Asia—the meeting point of the borders of Thailand, Myanmar, and Laos. The locals call it "Sop Ruak,"  as this is also where the Mekong meets the Ruak River.

    Enjoy a locally made lunch in the afternoon before boarding a cruise down the Mekong River's banks between Myanmar, Laos, and Thailand, where you can observe local farmers and fishermen at work and learn about how the river was involved in the opium trade. Discover its natural beauty and cultural richness as you drift through the picturesque landscape.

    End the trip with a visit to the renowned village of Long-Necked Karen Tribe, Mae Salong, and immerse yourself in their way of life while surveying souvenirs from community kiosks full of carved wood and silver work. Neck rings made from brass weighing 4 kg are available for you to try on and take respectful photos with.

Day 6

Chiang Rai - Chiang Mai

After breakfast, board your transfer to Chiang Mai and visit the beautiful ancient capital of the Lanna Kingdom.

Upon arrival, visit the most sacred temple in the north of Thailand: Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, which contains a holy relic of the Lord Buddha. The view of Chiang Mai City from the mountain temple is phenomenal.

In the evening, you can opt to join a cooking class with a traditional Thai dinner to learn how to cook in an organic kitchen ($).

Chiang Mai

Spend the day exploring Chiang Mai as you please! Discover the old city's enchanting temples, meander through vibrant markets, savor local delicacies, and discover unique treasures. For those seeking nature's embrace, delve into the lush landscapes surrounding Chiang Mai. Embark on a scenic hike or join an optional activity. The choice is yours!

    Visit elephants at a sanctuary in their natural environment and gain insight into their history and behaviour as you spend time with these amazing animals in a safe and sustainable environment.

  • Traditional Thai Massage

    Unlike other types of massages, in Thailand your masseuse will stretch, bend, and contort your body into various positions, known to quickly ease the stress of muscle tension.

Day 8

Chiang Mai - Kuala Lumpur

After breakfast, you will meet your transfer in the lobby of your hotel to take you to Chiang Rai’s Airport, where you will catch your flight to Kuala Lumpur. Upon arrival at Kuala Lumpur’s International Airport, you will need to clear customs and immigration, then proceed towards the exit of the immigration hall, where you will be greeted by a local representative with an Air Canada Vacations sign to take you to your hotel to check-in. Spend the rest of the evening at leisure, or you can join an optional activity.

  • Kuala Lumpur Tower and Chinatown Tour with Dinner

    Your tour guide will pick you up at your hotel at 6:00 p.m. to take you to Kuala Lumpur Tower, a 421-meter-tall telecommunication tower, where you can view the city from the observation deck. After, enjoy dinner at Bijan Restaurant to indulge in some delicious Malay cuisine. Finally, experience the colours of Chinatown on Petaling Street, where you can explore fashionable boutiques and large markets.

Day 9

Kuala Lumpur

After breakfast, you will meet your dedicated driver/tour guide in the lobby of your hotel and continue with a tour of the city.

  • Kuala Lumpur City Discovery Tour

    Visit Kuala Lumpur’s most iconic sights on this 3.5-hour tour, ranging from the old Chinese houses to some examples of colonial British architecture. After, enjoy views of the King’s Palace exterior and tour the National Museum and National Monument before walking through the grounds of the Botanical Garden. Once finished, head to the National Mosque, also known as Masjid Negara in Malay, located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur and home to lush gardens. Built in 1965, this elegant building features a spectacular dome covered in green and blue tiles, accompanied by 48 smaller domes spread out across the Mecca-inspired courtyard. Be sure to adhere to the National Mosque’s strict dress code while visiting.

    Stop at Independence Square and learn the culture and history of the city before heading to the City Gallery to see how the city has developed. End the tour with a trip to the Petronas Twin Towers, where you can get an unmatched view of the city skyline, like the adjacent 50-acre KLCC Park.

Day 10

Kuala Lumpur - Malacca

After breakfast and checking out, meet your driver/tour guide in the lobby of your hotel to transfer to your next stop: Malacca!

On arrival in Malacca, start your adventure with a tour of the city, followed by lunch.

Malacca was also the state where Malaysia’s declaration of Independence was held. The tour highlights St. Peter’s Church, Porta de Santiago, and the ruins of St. Paul’s Church, the Dutch Administration Office, Cheng Hoon Teng Temple, and Jonker Street. Kampong Morten, this village is probably the only remaining Malay riverine village in Melaka, which still retains its old charm despite nestled within the confines of city comforts. It is more of a “living museum” than a typical Malay village.

    Immerse yourself in the city's rich heritage as you stroll through the charming streets adorned with colonial-era architecture, vibrant markets, and ancient temples. Enjoy highlights like St. Peter’s Church, the Porta de Santiago, and the ruins of St. Paul’s Church, the Dutch Administration Office, Cheng Hoon Teng Temple, and Jonker Street. Finally, stop at Kampong Morten, a Malay riverine village with authentic charm despite its location within the city.

Day 11

Malacca - Singapore

After breakfast and checking out, meet your driver/tour guide who will take you to your next stop: Singapore.

Upon arrival at the Malaysia/Singapore border, you will need to clear customs and immigration for *both countries. Once you clear customs and immigration, proceed to the customs hall where your Singapore tour guide will greet you with an Air Canada Vacations sign with your name on it to escort your next activity in your itinerary!

*Notes: Your Malaysia driver/tour guide will take you to the border between Malaysia and Singapore; you will have to take your luggage with you and proceed to the customs hall. You will go through 2 customs (connected to each other, one for the Malaysia departure and a second one for Singapore’s arrival).

Upon arrival in Singapore in the afternoon, continue your journey with a scenic Bumboat River Cruise on the Singapore River, then visit the famous Gardens by the Bay and marvel at the natural splendor of this 101-hectare park.

Upon completion of the day’s activities, you will be transferred to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

    Enjoy a scenic and leisurely ride on a traditional wooden bumboat past iconic landmarks, beautifully restored shophouses, and ultra-modern skyscrapers. There’s no better place to learn about the city’s fascinating history than the Singapore River, which has served as the city’s lifeline for more than 200 years. 

  • Gardens by the Bay

    Stroll through this stunning nature park and discover attractions like the Supertree Grove; the Cloud Forest, home to a 35-meter-tall indoor waterfall; the Flower Dome, the world’s largest greenhouse, which is also home to flowers from 5 continents; and the OCBC Skyway, where you can enjoy a panoramic aerial view of the gardens from between the Supertrees.

Day 12

Singapore

After breakfast, your tour guide will meet you in the hotel lobby to take you on a half-day Singapore city tour covering all of the most iconic sights around.

Upon completion of this mesmerizing tour, you will be transferred back to the hotel. Spend the rest of the day at leisure.

  • Singapore City Tour (approximately 4 hours)

    Begin your tour with a trip through the Civic District and pass by historical landmarks like Padang, the Singapore Cricket Club, the Parliament House, and the National Gallery housed within the former Supreme Court Building and City Hall. After, stop at the renowned Merlion Park for breathtaking views of Marina Bay. Be sure to take a picture with the Merlion, Singapore’s mascot! Continue to one of Singapore’s oldest Buddhist-Daoist temples, and then drive through scenic Chinatown for a Dim Sum lunch. End the tour in Little India, where you can purchase exotic fruits, spices, and teas.

Day 13

Singapore - Canada

After breakfast, board your air-conditioned transfer vehicle to Singapore International Airport for your return flight to Canada.
