Visit Atlanta: Get started

Begin your visit by discovering over 100 different beverage choices on a tour of the World of Coca-Cola exhibit in downtown Atlanta and take a photo with its famous Polar Bear mascot. From there, get the chance to see some actual wildlife while visiting Zoo Atlanta or the Georgia Aquarium. Finally, don’t miss your chance to learn about the origins of the civil rights movement at places like National Center for Civil and Human Rights and the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Park.

No matter which neighbourhood you’re visiting, there’s something for everyone’s palate. For instance, sport lovers and nearby college students love to return to The Varsity in downtown Atlanta for its chili-cheese dogs, but you can also enjoy riverside views at the Canoe in Vinings or classic Italian charm at La Grotta in Buckhead.

Although there are many shops where you can find trinkets made by designers and local artisans, we recommend bringing back wine from one of Northern Georgia’s vineyards on a day trip from Atlanta. Jellies and spreads are another popular option to share with loved ones.

If you thought airport traffic wasn’t busy enough, then you haven’t been to Atlanta. The Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, located in downtown Atlanta, is famous for being the world’s busiest airport, and its traffic has only increased more and more over the years.
