Itinerary

Day 1

Depart Canada

Fly to Copenhagen.

Day 2-4

Welcome to Copenhagen and the Kingdom of Denmark

Arrive in Copenhagen and take a transfer to your hotel.

Enjoy the famed charms from the past and present over the next 3 nights, including the infamous Little Mermaid statue and the rococo Royal Palace Amalienborg. Walk around Nyhavn which was once a busy commercial port. Don’t forget to visit the home of author Hans Christian Andersen! During summer Nyhavn is the perfect place to end a long day.

For a change of pace, try getting around the city by bike, like the locals do. Copenhagen is world-famous for its bike culture, and Copenhageners have used the bicycle as their primary method of transportation since the 1880s.

  • Classic Canal Tour

    This one-hour canal tour will present you the most iconic places of the city from a different perspective. Experience all the famous sights and iconic landmarks, including the famous Little Mermaid statue, the majestic Amalienborg Castle – home of the royal family, and the old Stock Exchange Building as you sail through the historic canals of the Danish capital.

Day 5

Copenhagen – Odense, by Train

After breakfast, make your your way to the train station and embark towards Fyn, a Danish island on which the city of Odense stands.

After approximately 1h30 on board, arrive in Odense and spend the day free to discover the city where Hans Christian Andersen was born. Make sure to visit his museum and his childhood home while you are here.

Don’t miss the wide range of hip boutiques and cafés, as well as antique stores and art galleries. Don’t forget to visit the cathedral, which is the longest and tallest of its kind in the country.

Day 6-7

Odense – Aarhus, by Train

After breakfast, make your own way to the train station and embark the train in the direction of Aarhus (approximately 1h30). Upon arrival in Aarhus make your way to your hotel.

Eplore Arhus, Denmark’s second largest city. With more than 40,000 students, Aarhus is a young and dynamic center of art and culture.

Discover the ARoS art museum, with its spectacular architecture and large collection. Continue your visit with the cathedral, in the city center, which is the tallest in Denmark.

In the Latin Quarter, near the cathedral, you will find excellent antique shops, art galleries and trendy designer boutiques. You can also explore its old town (Den Gamle By), where around sixty historically accurate reconstructed houses give the living image of a trading town of yesteryear.

Day 8

Aarhus - Copenhagen, by Ferry and Bus

After breakfast, you have the morning at your leisure to complete your visit in Aarhus. 

In the afternoon, departure by a scheduled bus to the ferry terminal. You will sail from Aarhus back on Sjælland Island for a little more than an hour.

Enjoy the trip as the boat cuts through the sea to reach the other side. You will then disembark in Odden, where your bus will drive you back to Copenhagen (3h30 in total including the boat).

On arrival in Copenhagen, make your own way to your hotel. 

Spend this last day on completing your discovery of Denmark. You could indulge in a fun evening in Tivoli Garden, or choose to walk around the small, cobbled streets of the city centre with a visit to the Round Tower – an attraction that offers fantastic views over this one-of-a-kind Scandinavian capital.

Day 9

Return Home

After breakfast, take your transfer from your hotel to Copenhagen airport for your return flight home.
