Depart Canada
Overnight flight to Delhi’s International Airport.
Day 2
Welcome to Delhi
Upon arrival at Delhi’s International Airport, you will be required to clear customs and immigration. Once cleared, please proceed to the exit where a dedicated local representative will greet you with an Air Canada Vacations board with your name on it. They will escort you to your private transfer to take you to your hotel to check-in. Rest of the evening is at your leisure.

After breakfast, your tour guide will take you on a full-day city tour (visiting Old Delhi and New Delhi): enjoy views of a UNESCO World Heritage Site along the drive, while adrenaline awaits on board of a cycle rickshaw that will take you through the narrow lanes of Old Delhi.
In the afternoon, your tour guide will take you to the New Delhi area, where you will visit Humayun's Tomb, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, for an orientation with a conservationist from the Aga Khan Foundation involved in heritage conservation.

Full-day City Tour
On your way to Old Delhi, you will be driving past* the Red Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Experience the delightful chaos of the city aboard a cycle rickshaw for an exciting ride through its narrow lanes. The Old City walls wrap around Chandni Chowk, an ancient market that continues to thrive to this day. Take in the electrifying energy around you while you expose your senses to the enticing colors and exotic scents of cardamom and allspice, and watch local men sip their tea at deliciously fragrant chai stands.
In the afternoon, on your way to the New Delhi area, drive past* the impressive India Gate and the Secretariat building on the way to Humayun's Tomb for an introduction with a conservationist from the Aga Khan Foundation involved in heritage conservation. The 16th-century Humayun's Tomb is one of India’s many UNESCO World Heritage Sites and the first garden tomb of Asia. Like the Taj Mahal, it is a testament of love built by a queen for her beloved husband Humayun, the 2nd Mughal Emperor of India.

This afternoon, your tour guide will take you to visit the Agra Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that once served as the main residence of the emperors until the capital was moved from Agra to Delhi.

Agra Fort
A UNESCO World Heritage Site. a red sandstone fort built on a bend of the Yamuna River. The Mughal Dynasty fort served as the main residence of the emperors until the capital was shifted from Agra to Delhi and is an impressive monument with a rich architectural history. The Emperor Shah Jahan was once imprisoned inside the Agra Fort, and the tower of his imprisonment offers spectacular views of the Taj Mahal in the distance.

Start your day early to catch the first rays on the Taj Mahal. After the visit, you will be transferred back to the hotel for breakfast.

Taj Mahal
The Taj Mahal (closed on Fridays) is an architectural symphony of pristine white marble, which has captivated the imagination of poets, authors, and painters alike for generations. A lovelorn Shah Jahan had this glorious mausoleum erected for his beloved wife after her untimely death. It took 22 years and over 20,000 men to build this memorial of love from marble quarried 200 miles away. You have ample time to explore this magnificent monument and admire its perfect symmetry from every angle. This roughly 2-hour visit includes a detailed explanation of the monument’s history and construction, as well as free time for pictures.

Fatehpur Sikri
This deserted red sandstone city is an architectural marvel and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built by the Great Mughal Emperor Akbar in the late 16th century, this palace is an extraordinary space to explore. The site boasts stunning sandstone sculptures, as well as palaces, mosques, and courtyards displaying a unique blend of Mughal, Persian, and Hindu architectural styles.

Amber Fort
Surrounded by battlements and overlooking Maota Lake, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to a sprawling complex of courtyards and halls for you to explore. Most fascinating, perhaps, is the Sheesh Mahal, or the Hall of Mirrors, where a single lamplight is reflected through the numerous mirrors embedded within the walls and ceilings, illuminating the whole room.

City Place
This magnificent structure combines the architectural elements of the Mughal Empire, Rajput, and the Shilpa Shastra of India with those of Europe. Much of the palace now contains the Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Museum. The complex consists of several palaces, pavilions, museums, workshops, and temples for you to explore, with the most prominent and frequently visited being the Chandra Mahal, Mubarak Mahal, Mukut Mahal, Maharani’s Palace, and the Shri Govind Dev Temple. One of its most striking attractions are the four vibrantly painted doorways representing the seasons.

Jantar Mantar
Just a short walk from the City Palace, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is the most famous of the five observatories built by Sawai Jai Singh across India. A great admirer and patron of science and technology, his passion for astronomy led him to commission the creation of royal observatories in different locations throughout the country to help astronomers study constellations.

Jodhpur Half-day City Tour
Enjoy discovering the highlights of Jodhpur on this half-day tour. Start with Meherangarh Fort, located on a low sandstone hill. The palace apartments are beautifully decorated with jewelry, costumes, and other remnants of the past. The massive fort was the first structure of the city, with the rest of Jodhpur growing around it, protected by its high stone wall with seven gates and countless bastions. Although the fort appears rugged and impenetrable, it houses some of the most intricately adorned palaces of Rajasthan with exquisitely carved panels and latticed windows. Today, Jodhpur is Rajasthan’s second largest city, yet it retains its medieval charm and character.

Ranakpur Temple
The main temple, built early in the 15th century, is notable for the remarkable beauty of its architecture and intricate white marble carvings. The extensive complex covers 29 halls and 1,444 unique pillars. Observe Jain priests clad in white robes assist followers with their ceremonial offerings, while other priests cheerfully answer any questions you may have about their religion. Please note that Jain beliefs are greatly respected and admired even among non-Jains.

Udaipur
After breakfast, your tour guide will take you on an exciting half-day city tour of Udaipur.
In the afternoon, your tour guide will take you directly to a 1-hour* picturesque boat ride on Lake Pichola, where you will visit some of the many ghats (banks) of washing and bathing while you enjoy excellent views of the Lake Palace and City Palace.

Udaipur Half-day City Tour
Start your visit with a drive around the artificial Fatehsagar Lake*, built by Maharana Fateh Singh in 1754. Then, go to Jagdish Temple, Udaipur’s largest and most venerated temple, built in 1651 in the Indo-Aryan style. Miniature paintings depict Princess Krishna Kumari drinking poison. In Krishna Villa, you can see exquisite statues before heading to the City Palace and Museum, India’s largest palace complex. The enormous granite structure is a blend of Mughal and Rajput influences and once served as a winter retreat for the Maharaja.

Half-day City Tour
Start your visit with one of Mumbai’s iconic landmarks, the Gateway of India. This yellow basalt arch was erected on the waterfront in 1924 to commemorate King George V’s visit in 1911. Continue past the Mumbai High Court and the Old Secretariat. Catch glimpses of the university building, the Victoria Terminus, the colourful Crawford Market, and the Flora Fountain on your way to the large busting square in the city’s heart. Stop by the Prince of Wales Museum to see its collection of chinaware, miniature paintings, and sculptures. Then, drive along Marine Drive, also known as the Queen’s Necklace, before heading to the Hanging Gardens. Continue past Mahalaxmi Temple and stop at the Jain Temple to visit Mani Bhavan, where Gandhi stayed during his Mumbai visits. Finally, end the tour at the Dhobi Ghat to witness the early morning laundry cleaning.

Elephanta Caves
This UNESCO World Heritage site is home to beautifully sculpted temples cut from the rocks of Elephanta Island. Just 9 nautical miles from Bombay, you must take a motorboat from the Gateway of India to reach them. The caves are believed to have been sculpted between 450 and 750, when the island was known as Gharapuri, the Fortress City. The Portuguese renamed it Elephanta because of a large stone elephant near the shore. To reach the temples, you must climb 120 steps.
